Awareness Session for Women in Qatmet Efrin Village – Afrin Countryside

Because family health begins with women’s awareness, the Step Team conducted an awareness session for women in the village of Qatmet Efrin, focusing on the basics of healthy nutrition, hygiene, and how to prepare balanced meals using simple, locally available ingredients.

Participants learned about the components of a balanced diet that combine carbohydrates, proteins, and fats, in addition to the importance of vitamins and minerals in building a healthy and active body.

They also discussed ways to prepare diverse meals using affordable local ingredients, as well as the importance of handwashing before and after cooking to ensure food safety and protect children from diseases.

💬 One participant said:

"I learned that a healthy plate can be prepared with ingredients I already have at home — what matters is that it’s varied and clean."

LANN+ sessions remind us that nutrition is not a luxury, but a right, a form of health, and an awareness that begins in the kitchen and benefits the whole community.
