As part of a series of awareness sessions targeting farmers in rural Afrin, the Step Team — one of the eight teams selected by SYCAC — held an awareness session in Qatmet Efrin village under the LANN+ program, which targets various community groups to promote positive and healthy behaviors.
During the session, farmers discussed the strong connection between sustainable farming practices and family health, exploring how simple actions — such as using organic fertilizers, crop rotation, and irrigation at the right times — can contribute to producing safe and nutritious food.
The discussion also covered methods for preserving soil and water, and the importance of cleanliness during harvesting and storage to protect crops from contamination, reaffirming that food safety begins in the field.
💬 One farmer said:
"Today I learned that clean soil means cleaner food and better health for my children."
These sessions demonstrate that the first step toward sustainable food security begins with the awareness of farmers — and with every seed planted with care and love.
