Promoting Nutritional and Health Awareness for Pregnant and Lactating Women in Haj Khalil Village, Rural Afrin

In an engaging and insightful session, the Environment and Peace team organized an awareness meeting for women — including pregnant and lactating mothers — in Haj Khalil village, rural Afrin, as part of the LANN+ program.

The session covered practical topics on proper nutrition during pregnancy and breastfeeding, emphasizing the importance of consuming a variety of meals that include vegetables, fruits, and proteins, as well as drinking adequate amounts of water to maintain the health of both mother and child.

Participants also discussed ways to ensure food and household hygiene, such as washing hands before and after food preparation to prevent the spread of germs and diseases.

💬 One mother said:
"I used to think that good nutrition requires a lot of money, but today I learned that a healthy meal can be made from simple ingredients available at home."

With these small steps, stronger families and healthier children are built, because every informed mother is a seed of change — towards a more balanced, healthy, and cleaner community.
