As part of efforts to strengthen environmental awareness and build community leadership, SYCAC, in collaboration with the Azar Youth Team, implemented an empowerment training for members of the Environmental Committee. The training aimed to equip participants with effective leadership skills and to enhance their sense of community responsibility toward environmental protection.
This activity was conducted under the initiative “Hand in Hand to Protect Our Environment” in Afrin. The training focused on key themes including environmental community leadership, teamwork, mechanisms for promoting environmental awareness, and the role of local committees in safeguarding natural resources and encouraging environmentally friendly practices within the community.
The training contributes to increasing the readiness and capacity of Environmental Committee members to actively engage in the planning and implementation of local environmental initiatives, while reinforcing their role as key partners in driving positive and sustainable change that benefits the village and its residents.
We believe that environmental protection begins with empowering the community itself. Through initiatives such as this, the spirit of collective action is translated into tangible efforts toward building a more environmentally conscious and sustainable future.
