As part of efforts to support inclusive livelihoods and promote self-reliance, a hands-on training on nutrition and home-based agriculture was conducted in the village of Jouiq under the initiative “Supporting Persons with Disabilities in Agriculture and Home-Based Food Production,” implemented by the Youth Pro Team with the support and supervision of SYCAC.
The training focused on equipping participants—persons with disabilities—with practical skills in home gardening, including soil preparation, selection of appropriate crops, planting techniques, and plant care. It also linked home-based agriculture with traditional food preservation (mouneh) as an entry point to strengthening food security and improving household income.
SYCAC’s role in supporting such initiatives stems from its commitment to advancing inclusive, community-led interventions and building the capacities of local teams to lead development activities that prioritize the most vulnerable groups and provide them with genuine opportunities for participation and productive engagement within their communities.
SYCAC believes that economic empowerment can only be achieved through practical, inclusive initiatives that respond to diversity and specific needs, while creating sustainable pathways toward greater dignity and stability.
