In the heart of Kafrshil, challenges were many, yet the presence of an active community committee supported by SYCAC turned the difficult into possible and ideas into tangible achievements.
Through the SYCAC project, the Kafrshil Committee underwent intensive training in facilitation, protection, mediation, and community dialogue, equipping its members with the essential tools every community needs to build cohesion and peace from within.
Thanks to this support, the committee became a central pillar for community engagement analyzing problems, proposing solutions, and implementing developmental initiatives that benefit all residents of the village.
One of the committee’s most significant accomplishments was the implementation of a pioneering initiative to rehabilitate the village’s primary school, which had long suffered from deteriorating infrastructure and a lack of basic services.
This initiative was not merely about repairing walls—it was about restoring trust, rebuilding hope, and reaffirming that education is the most vital bridge toward a better future for all.
The initiative also helped strengthen social bonds among residents through community dialogue sessions that revived cooperation and mutual understanding.
The Kafrshil Committee has proven that empowering local committees is the most effective path toward sustainable development. The structured support provided by SYCAC goes beyond training it focuses on capacity building and strengthening community ownership of decisions and initiatives.
