As part of its efforts to support the most marginalized groups, SYCAC is launching the initiative “Supporting Persons with Disabilities in Agriculture and Home-Based Food Production” in the Kumbla settlement and the village of Jouiq in rural Afrin. The initiative aims to empower persons with disabilities—women and men—both economically and socially through practical training and production support that enables them to start small home-based projects.
The initiative focuses on transforming skills into income-generating opportunities while strengthening the role of families and the wider community in promoting inclusion and independence.
✨ The initiative includes:
🌱 Introductory sessions to present the objectives and encourage community participation
🌱 Practical trainings in home gardening and traditional food preservation (mouneh)
🌱 Awareness sessions for families on how to support their members with disabilities
🌱 Provision of production kits to launch small home-based projects
🌱 Supplying assistive devices to facilitate the participation of persons with disabilities in training and work
This initiative is not only a form of production support—it is a step toward a more inclusive and equitable community where every individual has the opportunity to contribute to local development.
