Sycac has launched the third training module titled "Dialogue Facilitation Skills", as part of the Empowering Women and Youth as Key Partners in Building Resilient Communities in Northwest Syria project. The session was attended by 16 participants (11 females - 5 males) from selected local organizations.
The training covered several important topics, including:
- Dialogue Facilitation and Its Importance: Understanding the role of a facilitator in guiding dialogue and ensuring smooth discussions.
- Community Dialogue: Exploring how community dialogue can foster understanding among different groups.
- Active Listening Skills: Emphasizing the importance of effective listening to create productive interactions among participants.
- Effective Questioning Techniques: How to ask questions that provoke thought and encourage participation.
- Dialogue Fundamentals: Discussing the core elements that make dialogue productive and meaningful.
- Qualities of a Successful Facilitator: Key traits facilitators should have, such as neutrality and strong discussion management skills.
- Building Trust Among Participants: Techniques for fostering trust, including active listening, transparency, encouraging equal participation, empathy, creating a safe environment, and providing constructive feedback.
- Conflict Management Strategies: How to address conflicts that may arise during the dialogue process.
The goal of this training module is to equip participants with the necessary skills to facilitate community dialogues effectively, build trust and mutual understanding among participants, and contribute to peaceful coexistence and conflict resolution within their communities.
