As part of the ongoing awareness sessions implemented under the LANN+ methodology, supported and supervised by SYCAC Organization within the Community Resilience Capacity-Building Project in earthquake-affected areas of Syria, the White heart team conducted an interactive awareness session for children in Upper Kafardli village in rural Afrin.
During the session, children explored through engaging, play-based activities the importance of consuming balanced meals rich in vegetables and fruits, and how a healthy breakfast provides them with the energy needed for learning and concentration. They also learned the correct handwashing steps and key moments for practicing them, and were able to distinguish between healthy and unhealthy behaviors in their daily lives.
These sessions go beyond awareness-raising activities; they represent a meaningful investment in children’s knowledge and behaviors. What children learn is carried back to their homes and families, enabling them to act as positive agents of change in promoting healthier practices within their communities.
This project is funded by BMZ and implemented in partnership with Welthungerhilfe (WHH).
