Awareness Sessions for Women in Qarzihel Village, Rural Afrin

In rural communities where agriculture serves as a primary source of livelihood, women’s awareness of nutrition and resource management becomes a powerful driver of change.

In the village of Qarzihel in rural Afrin, the Community Engagement Team implemented a series of awareness sessions for women using the LANN+ methodology, with the support of SYCAC. The sessions aimed to strengthen the linkages between nutrition, agriculture, and natural resource management as integrated pathways to improving family health and overall community well-being.

The sessions fostered interactive dialogue among women about daily challenges related to food and production, while providing practical knowledge on how to utilize available resources to improve meal quality, reduce food waste, and enhance child nutrition.

Through the sharing of local experiences and collective awareness-building, participants were able to recognize their role as agents of change both within their households and in the wider community.

This project is funded by BMZ and implemented in partnership with Welthungerhilfe (WHH).
