Awareness session for farmers in Afrin

As part of a series of awareness sessions supervised by SYCAC in Afrin, the Community Engagement Team conducted an interactive session using the LANN+ approach, targeting a group of farmers to strengthen the linkages between nutrition, agriculture, and sustainable livelihoods.

The LANN+ approach is a community-based tool that connects good nutrition with agricultural practices and natural resource management by enabling communities to analyze their own needs and propose practical solutions to improve their food and livelihood conditions.

The session provided a dynamic space for exchange, where farmers discussed their daily challenges and explored how local agriculture can serve as an entry point to improving household nutrition—particularly in light of current economic constraints.
Through these sessions, we aim to reinforce the leadership role of farmers, not only as producers, but also as drivers of change toward sustainable local food security.

This project is funded by BMZ and implemented in partnership with Welthungerhilfe (WHH).
