A community dialogue session in Homs

In Homs, we came together to listen to voices as they are, without attempting to steer or shape them. Voices emerging from heavy experiences and from memories worn down by years of fear and division.

The dialogue session brought together diverse faces around one long-standing question: How do we live together after all that has happened?

Participants spoke openly about fear, about the absence of safety, and about an identity shaken by violence and division, yet not erased. It was clear that belonging cannot be imposed, but is built with patience, and that social peace cannot be achieved without transitional justice that acknowledges victims and opens the door to accountability and redress.

The session was not a search for ready-made answers, but a sincere moment of recognition and listening to people’s lived experiences as they are without judgment or categorization.

In Homs, dialogue was the beginning.
