As part of efforts to support inclusive livelihoods and promote self-reliance, the Youth Pro Team conducted a hands-on training on home gardening and traditional food preservation (mouneh) in the Kombaleh settlement in rural Afrin, under the initiative “Supporting Persons with Disabilities in Agriculture and Food Preservation.”
The training focused on equipping participants—persons with disabilities—with practical skills in preparing home spaces for cultivation, selecting appropriate crops, and applying proper plant care techniques. It also introduced food preservation practices as a practical entry point to strengthening household food security and improving family income.
SYCAC’s role in supporting this initiative reflects its commitment to promoting the inclusion and active participation of persons with disabilities by backing inclusive initiatives that provide real opportunities for production, capacity building, and meaningful engagement within the community.
SYCAC believes that empowering persons with disabilities is a fundamental step toward building a more just and inclusive society that values the capacities of all its members.
This project is funded by BMZ and implemented in partnership with Welthungerhilfe (WHH).
