The Role of Entrepreneurship in Social Integration Workshop

On October 22, 2024, the SYCAC Organization held a workshop titled "The Role of Entrepreneurship in Social Integration" with the participation of 40 representatives from international organizations, donors, and active Turkish institutions interested in promoting social integration in Turkey. This workshop is part of SYCAC's efforts to support the business sector and enhance social cohesion between refugees and the host community in Turkey.

Workshop Goals:

The workshop focused on reviewing the results of research conducted by SYCAC on the role of the business sector in integration in Turkey between refugees and the Turkish community. It discussed the economic opportunities and challenges that the business sector presents for bringing communities closer together, as well as observing the impact of joint projects in strengthening social ties.

Through this workshop, SYCAC seeks to open the door for donors, Turkish and international institutions to contribute to building effective and sustainable support programs for business owners. These programs aim to encourage joint ventures that enhance social cohesion by providing financial and technical support for initiatives between Syrians and Turks. The focus is on the pivotal role that the business sector can play in building bridges of communication between the two communities. Additionally, advocacy efforts are aimed at facilitating legal procedures and ensuring that Syrian business owners have access to the necessary resources to grow their projects, serving both communities in the process.
