SYCAC Program for Response in Türkiye: Supporting Economic Empowerment and Enhancing Social Cohesion

For over ten years, SYCAC has been supporting vulnerable communities affected by conflict, focusing on resilience-building and strengthening local capacities. The program aims to empower refugees, internally displaced persons (IDPs), and host communities through initiatives that promote economic empowerment and social cohesion.

Program Objectives:

- Enhance entrepreneurial and economic skills.
- Provide training to support legal and tax compliance.
- Strengthen social integration through cultural and sports activities.
- Support entrepreneurship to foster economic stability.

Program Components:

1- Training and Skills Development:
Training on artificial intelligence, digital marketing, and work permit procedures, in addition to other trainings.

2- Legal Awareness and Compliance:
Trainings on licensing, tax obligations, and awareness on temporary protection for refugees.

3- Social Cohesion Initiatives:
Sports and cultural activities to promote understanding between refugees and host communities.

4- Future Interventions in Earthquake-Affected Areas:
Focus on building economic capacities, supporting small businesses, and improving employment opportunities, particularly for women and youth.

Target Groups:

Syrian refugees, host communities, women, youth, entrepreneurs, vulnerable groups, and informal workers.

The program aims to achieve sustainable impact by fostering economic empowerment and enhancing social cohesion for the target groups in Turkiye.
