Provision of Individual Legal Consultations in Afrin

As part of efforts to enhance access to justice and strengthen legal awareness, 200 individual legal consultations were provided in the city of Afrin on Housing, Land, and Property (HLP) issues, responding to real and urgent needs among community members. This was delivered under the “Legal Clinic” initiative, implemented by the Community Engagement Team with the support and supervision of SYCAC.

These consultations enabled many individuals to better understand the legal procedures required to claim and protect their rights, providing them with clear legal guidance to support informed decision-making, reduce disputes, and strengthen their sense of legal safety and stability.

The importance of this initiative lies in its direct impact on the lives of Afrin residents, as it created a safe space to access reliable legal information and contributed to raising awareness of legal rights—particularly in light of the complexities surrounding housing, land, and property issues.

SYCAC’s role in adopting and supporting this initiative reflects its commitment to advancing HLP rights and building upon this intervention through future projects aimed at expanding legal support, strengthening rights protection, and ensuring sustainable community-level impact.

SYCAC believes that legal knowledge is the foundation of justice, and that protecting housing, land, and property rights is a critical step toward a more stable and equitable society for all.

This project is funded by BMZ and implemented in partnership with Welthungerhilfe (WHH).
