In a daily scene full of dedication and determination, the women participating in the "She Cleans, Life Flows" initiative continue their efforts to clean irrigation canals across three key areas in rural Afrin: Staro, Maarata, and Bablet.
Over the past weeks, 20 women—equipped with simple tools and strong will—have been working under a cash-for-work scheme to remove debris and waste from water channels, bringing life back to agricultural lands and improving livelihoods in their communities.
The work has been organized into parallel groups across the three locations to ensure rapid and comprehensive coverage, maximizing both the environmental impact of the initiative and its contribution to women’s economic and social empowerment.
This initiative is not only about rehabilitating irrigation systems—it is also about rebuilding social cohesion and highlighting the role of women as key partners in local development.
