“Hand in Hand, We Protect Our Environment” Initiative in Rural Afrin

As part of the Community Resilience Enhancement Project, SYCAC is launching its first community initiatives in the villages of Lower Kafrdali and Tel Ghazi in rural Afrin — an initiative that embodies change from within the community itself.

“Hand in Hand, We Protect Our Environment” is a community-driven initiative designed to improve public health and strengthen social cohesion by transforming cleaning and tree-planting efforts from temporary activities into a long-lasting community culture.

🔹 Establishing a local environmental committee of 12 members representing different community groups.
🔹 Empowering committee members through specialized training to enable them to take on leadership roles and promote environmental awareness and community responsibility.
🔹 Conducting collective cleaning campaigns with the participation of youth from both villages.
🔹 Planting trees with the involvement of families and children.
🔹 Distributing waste bins in high-need areas.
🔹 Carrying out engaging environmental awareness sessions for children.

This initiative is not just a campaign — it is the beginning of a cleaner, greener, and more connected future for the community.

Join us on this environmental journey — real change starts right here.
