Green Azolla Initiative - Green Hands

As part of SYCAC’s efforts to strengthen food security and promote economic empowerment, the initiative “Green Azolla – Green Hands” is being launched to support rural women by training them in cultivating the Azolla plant and using it as a low-cost, sustainable livestock feed.

The initiative aims to equip women with practical knowledge and skills, while fostering social cohesion through cooperative work and the formation of productive women's groups that share knowledge and play an active role in improving their households’ income.

Key Activities Include:
 Practical trainings on Azolla cultivation
 Formation of women’s cooperative groups
 Establishment of community demonstration ponds for production and learning
 Community engagement sessions to strengthen acceptance of women’s roles in agriculture and local production
 Peer-to-peer knowledge-sharing sessions to ensure sustainability of skills

“Green Azolla” is not merely an agricultural initiative—it is a step toward a stronger local economy and a community that shares knowledge, work, and responsibility.
