As part of SYCAC’s ongoing efforts to promote social cohesion and peacebuilding, eight community dialogue sessions were held in the village of Kafr Shil.
These included three sessions for women, three for men, and two for children, with the adult sessions divided into three diverse age groups to ensure inclusive community representation. The sessions came at a time when the village has been facing ongoing or potential social tensions, highlighting the importance of creating safe spaces for dialogue and mutual understanding among residents.
✨ During these sessions:
- A comprehensive overview of SYCAC’s project in the village was presented, including its current activities and future steps.
- Participants engaged in structured dialogues addressing key community issues.
- Priority conflict-related issues were identified, along with possible locally driven solutions.
-Participants discussed the concept of conflict, analyzed ongoing tensions, and mapped key stakeholders and influential actors.
✨ The children’s sessions featured engaging and age-appropriate activities:
- Storytelling, educational games, and exercises to help children understand different perspectives.
- Older children received training on negotiation and persuasion skills through simulated conflict resolution exercises.
🎯 The outcome? A rich map of local challenges and constructive approaches to address them—emphasizing the critical role of women as peace mediators and children as active contributors to a culture of dialogue and peaceful coexistence from an early age.
💬 The sessions concluded with the “Secret Box” activity, where participants received messages containing words of peace, love, and forgiveness—reinforcing shared values and positive community spirit.
