Because dialogue is the beginning…
The SYCAC Organization in Syria organized a community dialogue session held in Tartous, bringing together women and men from diverse social, religious, and regional backgrounds to engage in an open and honest discussion on Syrian identity, social peace, and the values of justice and dignity in a challenging transitional phase.
Together, we explored difficult yet essential questions:
What unites Syrians today?
What is the role of local identities in building a shared national identity?
How can trust between society and the state be rebuilt?
What role do memory, justice, and acknowledging pain play in achieving social peace?
The session was marked by deep reflections and powerful human experiences, reaffirming that diversity is a source of strength and that genuine dialogue is the first step toward a more just and cohesive future.
This session is not the end of the journey, but the beginning of a longer path grounded in listening, understanding, and collective action toward a Syria that has space for everyone.
