SYCAC has successfully concluded the second training module titled Design and Implementation of Community Dialogue, as part of the Empowering Women and Youth as Key Partners in Building Resilient Communities in Northwest Syria project. The session was attended by 16 participants (12 females - 4 males) from selected local organizations and covered several important topics, including:
1- Key Techniques in Dialogue: Exploring effective techniques that contribute to successful dialogue sessions.
2- Adapting Dialogue Design to Cultural and Social Contexts: How to tailor dialogue design to the local environment for greater impact.
3- Conflict Sensitivity and Risk Management: Analyzing potential conflicts and risks during dialogue and how to manage them.
4- Strategies for Managing Dialogue: Discussing strategies for managing dialogue at different stages: before, during, and after the dialogue.
5- Rules for Dialogue Sessions: Establishing essential rules to ensure organized and constructive dialogue.
6- Stages of Dialogue: From introductions and clarifying issues to deepening understanding, generating comprehensive options, and evaluating available options.
7- Criteria for Stakeholder Selection: How to select key participants to ensure inclusive and impactful dialogue.
8- Choosing the Right Location and Timing: The importance of selecting the appropriate location and timing for effective dialogue.
9- Reaching Agreements and the Difference Between Consensus and Agreement: Understanding how to reach successful agreements and distinguishing between consensus and agreement.
The aim of this training module was to empower participants with the skills needed to design and implement effective community dialogue sessions, taking into account local contexts and potential risks, thereby contributing to enhanced understanding and peaceful coexistence within communities.
