At SYCAC Organization, we believe that meaningful change begins on the ground and is driven by the voices that engage with daily realities. From this perspective, SYCAC conducted a specialized workshop on Decree 107 and the legislative framework governing the work of local councils in Syria, targeting the Directorate of Local Administration in Idlib.
The workshop brought together 21 participants, including the Director of the Local Councils Directorate, the Head of Idlib City Council, heads of local councils across the governorate, representatives of the Directorate, and a number of governance experts. The session explored the provisions of the decree, the mandates of local councils, and key implementation challenges. It concluded with a set of actionable recommendations that can inform the next phase of local administration in Syria.
This workshop comes as part of SYCAC Organization’s ongoing commitment to supporting local governance processes in Syria and strengthening the capacities of local institutions during this transitional period.
