As part of its ongoing efforts to promote sustainable irrigation and improve livelihoods, SYCAC has launched the "She Cleans, Life Flows" initiative with the participation of 20 women from various areas in rural Afrin. These women were carefully selected based on clear criteria to ensure support reaches the most vulnerable and in-need groups.
Over the course of one month, the women will engage in cleaning irrigation canals from debris and waste across several targeted locations. The goal is to enhance water flow and improve the efficiency of water resource use in the agricultural sector.
To ensure effective implementation, the participants were divided into small groups working in parallel across the targeted areas, increasing the initiative’s productivity and accelerating the achievement of its developmental and environmental objectives.

🎯 This initiative aims to:
- Rehabilitate agricultural irrigation networks and improve vital infrastructure to support local farming.
- Provide temporary income opportunities for 20 women—including displaced persons, returnees, and host community members—through a cash-for-work scheme.
- Promote social cohesion by engaging women in collective action that benefits the entire community.
This type of intervention achieves a dual impact: on one hand, it improves women’s living conditions by empowering them economically, and on the other, it reinforces their role as active partners in the development of their local communities—fostering a spirit of responsibility and teamwork.
