Dialogue sessions in the village of AL Nira in Afrin

As part of SYCAC’s ongoing efforts to promote social cohesion and peacebuilding, eight community dialogue sessions were conducted in the village of AL Nira.

These included three sessions for women, three for men, and two for children. Adult sessions were organized into three diverse age groups to ensure broad and inclusive representation.

The sessions brought together Arab and Kurdish community members, including leaders, farmers, and persons with disabilities—enriching the discussions with cultural and human perspectives.

✨ During these sessions:

- A detailed presentation was given about SYCAC’s project phases and upcoming steps in the village.

- Participants engaged in open discussions on key social and conflict-related issues.

- Conflict causes and developments were analyzed, along with the identification of key actors and affected groups.

- Peaceful, dialogue-based solutions were proposed, emphasizing inclusive participation.

✨ The children’s sessions featured interactive and educational activities:

- Icebreaker games, exercises exploring emotions and perspectives (e.g., “6 or 9”), and storytelling.

- For older children: a simulated conflict scenario and training in dialogue and persuasion to reach joint solutions.

🎯 The outcome A comprehensive map of community challenges and constructive responses—highlighting the vital role of women as peace mediators, and children as early contributors to a culture of dialogue and peaceful coexistence.
