CONFLICT ANALYSIS REPORT - IDLIB GOVERNORATE

This conflict analysis report for Idlib Governorate was developed during a period of significant political transition and heightened population movement. The production of this report would not have been possible without the commitment, insight, and collaboration of numerous individuals and organizations.

Primary research and drafting were conducted by Mustafa Ghanim, whose thorough fieldwork and analytical framing form the backbone of this report. The SYCAC programs team provided essential logistical coordination and contextual analysis, drawing on their long-standing engagement with communities across Idlib Governorate.

We extend special thanks to the members of the Idlib Peacebuilding Club, whose local knowledge and trusted relationships with community stakeholders enabled access to sensitive perspectives and emerging developments. Their facilitation of key informant interviews and focus group discussions during the volatile period of December 2024, marked by large-scale displacement and intensified armed confrontations, was especially critical.

The report also benefited from the methodological guidance, analytical frameworks, and strategic support of Search for Common Ground, whose contribution ensured a structured and participatory conflict analysis approach that integrates both local realities and peacebuilding perspectives. The report further benefited from the Idlib Context Sensitivity study, prepared by the UNDP Syria Office.
